君のそば (Kimi no soba)

Serving up Dævvskævv's third sonic palate cleanser of 2025

In 君のそば (Kimi no soba) we're headed to the southern part of Japan to enjoy some delicious homemade soba - or are we? Are we actually indulging in this culinary delight, or are we exploring something much deeper? The lyrics are actually, and intentionally, not entirely clear on that. It doesn't keep the tracks held on this release from being some very catchy examples of electronic pop, no matter how you look at it, driven by its catchy beats, heavy bass lines, and rhythmic, sampled vocals.

Musicians

Tom Simonsen: Vocals, guitars, bass, synths, samplers, drums and programming. 谷口めぐみ: Sampled vocal line on 君のそば.
