About Dævvskævv
No regard for genre or genre boundaries. Pop meets metal meets avant-garde meets whatever.
As such, it could be regarded as a nightmare from a marketing standpoint, as people typically need their music to fit squarely into neat, little categories that have been predefined for them - usually by marketing people.
Dævvskævv are known for making music that mixes a lot of different musical styles and constantly reinventing themselves. You never really quite know what to expect around the next corner, or from the next track. They are also known for their episodic series of releases, where the album or EP often has a backstory, with their half-skull-faced mascot - also named Dævvskævv (ダッブスカッブちゃん written in Japanese) - as the protagonist.
A well-established record label wouldn't touch this stuff with a ten foot pole. Thankfully, we own our own record label and don't have any marketing people on staff. That's what's making releases from a project like Dævvskævv possible.
